Speaker Bios:

Dunni Awe

Dunni was called to the bar in Nigeria before moving to Canada to pursue her master’s degree at UBC. After her LL.M, she worked as a legal advocate providing a range of advocacy services to low-income earners in the Downtown Eastside. Dunni then went on to Article at the Immigration and Refugee Legal Clinic and Access Pro Bono’s Everyone Legal Clinic. She was called to the Bar in BC in June 2024.

Jerome Igbokwe

Jerome has a bachelor’s degree in law and is licensed to practice Law in Nigeria. He has over 6 years’ experience working as an In-house Counsel for a major retailer in Nigeria before relocating to Canada.

Jerome is currently the Privacy Officer for the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and will be starting his articling program in October with another organization in British Columbia

Anisha Mathur

Anisha Mathur is the founding partner of a prominent law firm in India. With a wealth of experience in courtroom proceedings, negotiation, intellectual property rights (IPR), client management, and more, she has built a formidable reputation in the legal field. Anisha holds a distinction from Queen Mary University of London, a testament to her academic excellence and dedication to the field of law.

In pursuit of professional growth, Anisha has broadened her horizons to include Canada, successfully completing all her NCA exams. Her extensive experience has earned her a complete waiver from the articleship requirement, a rare acknowledgment of her expertise and competence. She is currently navigating the final stages of being licensed and taking the barrister and solicitor exam.
